Plava Laguna is a partner of the SeaStar Hero environmental project, which you can join at the beaches of the Zelena Resort: Lotosi and Camping Bijela Uvala.

SeaStar Hero by DiveOut is a fun outdoor activity in which you can participate while on the beach and thus contribute to the preservation of the environment and even win prizes!

If you are a good swimmer and like diving, get your mask, snorkel, and fins, register at one of the beaches that are part of the project, and do a heroic deed for our beloved sea! The task is to remove objects from the sea that do not belong there. Upon registration, each SeaStar Hero will receive protective gloves and a net for collecting marine debris, and can set out on a mission to clean up the sea bed! Each hero who returns the equipment and brings the collected waste to the person in charge of safety on the beaches wins a badge as proof of courage and big heart.

Those who make a special effort and remove 15 or more pieces of waste, win the prestigious SeaStar Hero title and a T-shirt that will grant them a number of benefits and discounts at catering establishments that are partners of the project.

The SeaStar Hero project is aligned with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development launched by the UN and transforms sea bed cleanup into a shared experience encouraging visitors and locals to actively fight for marine conservation. At the same time, it encourages cross-sector cooperation, including tourist boards, municipal administration, and services responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hotels, restaurants and cultural associations, which have jointly implemented and supported the initiative.

This socially responsible initiative was created in 2023 in cooperation with the Tourist Board of Poreč and the association Sonda, and has been supported by the Croatian Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund and many other partners, including WWF Adria. As part of a pilot project that was carried out at five locations in Poreč, more than 1,125 participants removed 4,500 pieces of small plastic waste in just three months.

Plava Laguna is always happy to support projects aimed at preserving nature and, through corporate business, cooperation with external partners and activities for its guests, carries out cleanup and information campaigns on the importance of ecology, responsible behaviour, and sustainable tourism, in order to protect all the natural resources and beauty that surround us so that we can all live better.
