Istria 100 is the largest trail race in Croatia. It was first held in 2013 with only 237 participants. Today, that number has risen to more than 2,000 runners from around the world, turning the event into one of the most important ultratrail races in the region.

The race is part of the UTMB World Series, a world trail cup that brings together 35 of the best races in the world. Among the 26,000 trail races held around the world, the UTMB World Series chose the Istria 100 by UTMB and included the race in the elite group.

Spring Challenge of the Istrian Landscape

Numerous athletes and recreational enthusiasts will find plenty of reasons to visit Istria even in the winter months, but the first days of spring bring a new edition of the ultratrail race Istria 100 by UTMB.

The race takes place in the area of Istria, starting from Labin (168 km), Buzet (110 km and 69 km), Motovun (42 km) and Grožnjan (21 km), all the way to Umag, making it one of the largest and most challenging races of its kind in Croatia. The trails combine all aspects of Istria: difficult and technically demanding terrain, coastal areas, old medieval towns, deep forests, urban centres, muddy valleys, streams and rivers, canyons, and many beautiful panoramas.

Plava Laguna - the official accommodation partner

Plava Laguna, as the official accommodation partner of the race, offers special conditions to participants during the race in selected hotels. The hotels are located in a great location – near the town centre and Istria 100 by UTMB sports hall.
