Summer just got even better – enjoy deals on longer stays and weekend escapes. Don’t miss out!
Dear guests,
We are eagerly awaiting your arrival at Plava Laguna! To make your journey easier and ensure a pleasant start to your well-deserved vacation, we would like to inform you in advance about expected increased traffic congestion in Zagreb and surrounding roads.
When and where to expect traffic jams?
On Saturday, July 5th, 2025, as well as several days before and after this date, a large event in Zagreb will cause heavy traffic on major roads and highways around the city. The highways A1, A2, A3, A4, A6, and the Zagreb bypass are particularly affected.
How to avoid traffic jams and delays?
If you are traveling to Istria via Zagreb, we advise you, if possible, to plan your trip one or more days earlier. We also recommend considering alternative routes that can shorten your travel time and help you avoid delays.
Recommended routes:
From Austria and Slovenia to Kvarner and southern Istria: Graz/Villach — Ljubljana — Postojna — Rupa (Croatia border) — Rijeka (via A7/E61 highway).
From Austria and Slovenia to northern and western Istria: Graz/Villach — Ljubljana — Postojna — Koper — Kaštel (Croatia border) — Umag — Poreč — Rovinj — Pula.
From Serbia to Istria and northern Adriatic: Bajakovo (Croatia border) — Slavonski Brod — Nova Gradiška — Popovača — Sisak — Petrinja — Glina — Karlovac — then A6/E61 highway towards Rijeka and Istria.
From Hungary: There are two main routes depending on the region you travel through; more details are available on the official HAK website.
Where to follow traffic updates?
Current traffic information is available on the Second Program of Croatian Radio (in English), on the HAK website (www.hak.hr), and in the Croatia Traffic Info - HAK mobile app.
We wish you a safe and pleasant journey to Plava Laguna, where your dream vacation begins!
