The Oldest Lighthouse on the Adriatic
Savudrija Lighthouse is located at the westernmost point of Croatia, in the village of Savudrija (Salvore), just a few minutes’ drive from Umag. Built in 1818 according to the design of architect Pietro Nobile, it is considered the oldest lighthouse on the Adriatic.
Standing 36 meters tall and constructed from local stone in its distinctive cylindrical shape, the lighthouse still proudly rises above the rocky coastline. Its light reaches as far as 18 nautical miles and has played a key role in ensuring maritime safety throughout history.
