Main beach
This sandy beach is located near the Hotel Sipar Plava Laguna, Hotel and Residence Umag Plava Laguna and Garden Suites Umag Plava Laguna. This is a real city beach, especially popular with children. The best time of day to visit is the early morning, when the sea is beautifully serene and clear. The beach also features a beach volleyball court, a children’s playground, and the Marea restaurant. For beachgoers who forgot to bring something, there are many stalls near the beach where they can buy swimsuits, souvenirs, beach toys and the like. The exciting Punta Pool complex is also nearby, with many slides, sprinklers and daily activities to discover.
Savudrija beach
The coast along the village of Savudrija features stony beaches and a striking 19th century lighthouse. The surrounding pine forest provides plenty of shade, and one part of the beach is pebbly and suitable for children. Access for persons with disabilities is provided in several areas of the beach. Several catering and sports and recreation facilities can be found nearby. Searching for sea shells washed up on the beach or snorkelling can provide hours of fun. Polynesia/Katoro beach
This is the beach for those who wish to rest and relax, but also those looking to have some fun, as it offers different sports activities. It was awarded the Blue Flag several times. The beach is divided into paved, pebble and stony sections. It is equipped with showers and changing cabins, and there are several bars and restaurants. Just above the beach there is the Umag Tennis Academy, a volleyball court, a smaller court with features for children and a water sports centre. Beach volleyball tournaments are often held here, drawing in large numbers of young people. Moreover, there are two pools not far from the beach, surrounded by large grassy areas ideal for playing football or badminton. The beach can be reached by tourist train or by bike along the shoreline. For accommodation closest to this beach, choose the Apartments Katoro or Polynesia Plava Laguna.
Aurora beach
The beach in front of the Hotel Aurora Plava Laguna is paved and offers the rental of sun loungers, umbrellas (free of charge for hotel guests) and water sports equipment. Steps leading into the water are installed. There are no shallow areas on this part of the beach. Cooling shade can be found above the beach, including several bars and restaurants. The beach can be reached by tourist train, the station is right next to it.
Pinija beach
Located in the Stella Maris Resort, below the apartments Stella and Amfora Plava Laguna, this beach offers everything you need for an ideal beach holiday with children. Parents with small children can stay in the shade of the nearby pine forest. Below the paved beach with sun loungers and umbrellas there is a stretch of sand where children can play and run without fear of injury. On the beach there are changing cabins, showers, sun loungers and umbrellas, and the entrance to the sea is accessible children. Many catering facilities can be found nearby, as well as a pool with a pirate ship, providing unforgettable fun to children and adults of all ages. One part of the beach is pet-friendly.
Kanegra beach
Kanegra beach is nested in one of the most beautiful bays on the west coast of Istria. The beach is surrounded by abundant greenery which provides ample shade, making it perfect for long stays. The beach itself is covered in fine gravel extending into the sea, which makes it ideal for families with small children. Many catering and sports and recreation facilities can be found nearby, as well as the Apartments Kanegra Plava Laguna. Pets are allowed in one part of the beach, and another part, near the Camping Kanegra camp, is reserved for nudists.
Laguna beach Stella Maris
This pebble beach with a Blue Flag certificate inside the Stella Maris Resort is located in the immediate vicinity of the ATP Stadium, home to the most famous tennis tournament in Croatia. The beach is very near the Apartments Stella and Amfora Plava Laguna, Istrian Villas Plava Laguna and Camping Stella Maris. The tourist train running to the beach is especially interesting to children, and we encourage all guests to use this mode of transport during their stay in Umag. On the beach there are sun loungers with umbrellas, showers, toilets, cafés with ice cream and refreshing drinks. Older children and adults, too, will enjoy the excellent offer of water sports.
